This is the first year of our garden. We are very excited because there are some really cool things growing.

As of the middle of July 2008, we have been eating up our lettuce. It is sooo good!

And soon, we will have beets. They are growing like gangbusters.

Our biggest problem has been keeping everything watered. But we think we've got it under control now.

Our melons this year will be watermelon. As you can see, they are growing great. We just hope that we have time to see them ripen. It was a very cold spring for us here.

The cold spring probably won't be a problem for the potatoes. We only have these few, but it is an experiment (along with the rest of the garden), so this year we have started small.

Next year, watch out baby! We have lots of space and Steve and Tammy already have drawn up plans.

It will involve raised beds and gravel walkways. Since none of us are getting any younger, we like the idea of easy weeding and easy watering.
