Arena Project

Every horse facility needs an arena, and we are no different. Our arena is coming in stages. Currently we have a 120 X 100 ft. arena. It's a lot of fun to ride in. Someday, we will have an indoor arena (we already have the plans done); and we will have a very large outdoor arena.

This also shows our hitching post. Made by Joseph. It is strong and very useful. Notice how things have been cleaned up. Believe me, it took a lot of cleaning!

The sand around the hitching post comes from our Dream River. It is the "good" kind of sand. That is, it sticks together and doesn't blow away when it's windy (which is most of the time). It isn't very dusty sand either.

arena
cavalettis Currently we have our homemade cavalettis set up. They were made by Joseph (who makes lots of neat stuff). These are very useful tools for teaching riding. They help both the rider and the horse.
You can also see our "red" mounting block. We got it at a lovely discount because the color was "incorrect". We think the color was just right.
Along with our arena--we moved the old tack room and remodeled the inside. It is currently next to our arena and looks pretty good! Here are the bridles and saddles, all very neat and within easy reach.
And here are all the helmets.
Even the horse trailers look pretty good. Notice, we put Dream River Sand all around. This makes it nice and clean looking. No more six feet deep weeds. No more piles of sheet metal. No more old pipe, old concrete, and old stuff.
And someday soon, we will have a round pen. Consider this a "before" picture. There are still things to be picked up, put away, or just plain cleaned up. But that's okay, for us, this is a life time project.
