Our high desert prairie rolls near the base of the Danskin Mountain Range just 25-minutes east of Boise, Idaho on the OregonTrail. This area is home to pronghorn antelope, coyotes, badgers, porcupines, cottontail and jack rabbits, prairie chickens, quail, pheasants, birds of prey, hummingbirds and dragonflies; many of which can be seen during your visit. The Riding Academy hosts clinics, play-days, camps and shows. One of our most rewarding programs is the Students and Horses Excelan equine assisted activities program and vaulting program helping to balance mind, body and spirit for all ages, and designed to build self-esteem in at-risk youth. Leg Up... a Boost Into the Saddle for Youths at Risk . . This program is sponsored by| Students and Horses Excel|(a 501(c)3 charitable organization). Through tax deductible donations, students attend camps, workshops or riding programs for a life changing experience through therapeutic horseback riding known asequine assisted activities.

Trail Rides offer an educational view of the high desert prairie. Rental horses are available for 2 or 4-hour sessions. Enjoy one of the simple pleasures of life from the back of a horse; good therapy for the soul. Reserve for special occasions or during a full-moon for rental horses.

Horse Camps for youths, couples and professionals where the Code of the West is taught using therapeutic horseback riding known as equine assisted activities through the Cowboy Leadership Foundation's experiential education program.

Teddy Roosevelt's Walk-n-Stick: is an opportunity to examine the natural terrain and the creatures it supports while enjoying a leisurely guided hike. Here you will find a wide variety of birds, plants and ground dwellers that make their home on the high desert prairie. President Theodore Roosevelt once said, "One should know what is in their own back yard" . Come and explore your Idaho.

Dream River Ranch is an intentional community of like minded equestrians establishing a co-housing project utilizing the terrain of eighty acres in an ecological manner to conserve and protect the natural environment. Our business gives us an identity much like a dude ranch or retreat center where we use our horses for education and therapy.
